Keeler Center Pool:
Keeler Center Pool is a warm water therapy pool. The water temperature is kept between 88-91 degrees in order to aid the body in relaxation and aquatic exercises. The warmer temperature is also more comfortable for the young children and swimmers who are apprehensive about being in the water.
Warm water therapy is especially beneficial for people with disabilities or other physical limitations. The pool area has been fully accessible for people with disabilities. There is a pool lift chair available, as well as shower chairs in the locker room.
AID's Keeler Center Pool offers the following classes:
- Group swim lessons Swimming lessons are two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) for an 8 week session. The program is designed for the participant to excel in the art of swimming as they advance through six progressively challenging levels. Based on the American Red Cross’s Learn-to-Swim program, classes combine aquatic skills, safety, diving, and ftness into a fun and exciting program. Swimmers will enjoy the comfort of the warm water and lean from experienced instructors.
- Private & semi-private lessons. The Keeler pool will attempt to accommodate to the times and days of the participants needs. Private and semi private lessons are available for people of all ages and needs.
- Aqua Fitness Enjoy the benefits of warm water therapy while working at your own pace! Exercising and swimming in a warm water pool can improve joint movement and muscle strength as the water helps support the body and reduce the stress of gravity. The class is perfect for those suffering from arthritis or other physical limitations. Participants must be able to stand in the water or bring an able bodied person to assist them in the water. The pool is equipped with steps, a railing, and a chair lift.
- Open swim Come practice the skills you learn in your lessons or just splash around with your friends and family. Our warm water, indoor pool is open to the public all year long.
